Privacy Policy
Last Updated: Sep 1st, 2026
MeetScript ("MeetScript", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to our Chrome Extension, web application, and all related services (collectively, the "Service").
By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you sign in with Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and Google profile photo. This information is used to create and identify your account. Your email address is read-only and cannot be changed; your display name is editable within the Service.
1.2 Meeting Content (User Content)
The core function of MeetScript is to capture and process meeting content. This includes:
- Audio recordings of your meetings;
- Video recordings if you choose to enable video capture;
- Transcripts generated from meeting audio;
- AI-generated meeting summaries and insights;
- Metadata such as meeting title, date, and participant names visible during the meeting;
- Bookmarks, and comments you add to transcripts; and
- Folder organization
All meeting content belongs to you. MeetScript processes this content to deliver the Service and does not sell or use your meeting content for advertising.
1.3 Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including:
- IP address and device identifiers;
- Browser type, version, and operating system;

- Error and performance diagnostics.
This data is used to maintain, secure, and improve the Service.
1.4 Billing Information
If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment processing is handled by Stripe. MeetScript does not store your full card number. We retain billing records including plan type, transaction amounts, and payment dates for accounting and support purposes.
1.5 Communications
If you contact us for support or send us feedback, we retain those communications to assist you and improve the Service.
1.6 Account Deletion Survey
When you choose to delete your account, we ask for a reason and optional description. This data is used solely to understand product gaps and reduce churn; it is not linked to your personal identity after account deletion.

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following legal bases:
- Contract: Processing necessary to deliver the Service you have signed up for;
- Legitimate Interests: Processing for security, fraud prevention, and product analytics, where these interests are not overridden by your rights;
- Consent: Where we rely on your consent, such as for optional marketing communications, you may withdraw consent at any time; and

4. Sharing of Information
4.1 Third-Party Service Providers
We share personal data with trusted third-party vendors who help us operate the Service. These vendors are contractually obligated to process data only on our instructions and in compliance with applicable data protection laws. Current key vendors include:
- Google Cloud Platform — infrastructure, storage, and authentication;
- Stripe — payment processing;
- Google APIs — transcription processing, OAuth, and Firebase services; and
- Email delivery provider — transactional email (e.g., recap notifications, billing emails).
4.2 Workspace Sharing
If you are a member of a team workspace, your meetings may be visible to other workspace members based on the privacy settings you choose for each meeting. Workspace Admins can view the workspace's meeting library subject to individual meeting privacy settings. On Free, Basic, and Pro plans, meetings set to "Only owner" are private to the owner — Admins cannot access them. On the Team plan, the Super Admin can access any meeting in the workspace, regardless of the owner's privacy setting.
4.3 Sharing with Recipients
When you share a meeting via a link or email, the recipient can access the meeting content to the extent permitted by the meeting's privacy setting. You are responsible for choosing the appropriate privacy setting before sharing.
4.4 Legal Disclosures
We may disclose your information to law enforcement, government authorities, or other parties when required by law, in response to legal process, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of MeetScript, our users, or the public.
4.5 Business Transfers
If MeetScript is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before your data becomes subject to a materially different privacy policy.
4.6 No Sale of Personal Data
MeetScript does not sell, rent, or trade your personal information or meeting content to third parties for their own marketing or commercial purposes.
5. Meeting Content and Transcripts
Your meeting recordings, transcripts, and summaries belong to you. You control who can access this content through the privacy settings on each meeting. MeetScript processes this content to deliver the Service (transcription, summarization, storage, and search). We do not use your meeting content to train public AI models or share it with third parties except as described in this Policy.
Any transcription or AI processing performed on your content is subject to the terms of our cloud infrastructure provider (Google Cloud Platform). Content is transmitted securely over TLS and stored in encrypted form.
6. Data Retention
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Specific retention rules include:
- Meeting content (transcripts, audio, video): Retained until you delete the content or your account.
- Billing records: Retained for 7 years as required for tax and accounting compliance;
- Usage and diagnostic logs: Retained for up to 12 months;
- Account deletion survey data: Retained in anonymized, aggregated form only; and
If you downgrade your plan, your data is still retained.
7. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including:
- All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.2 or higher;
- Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256;
- We conduct regular security reviews of our infrastructure and third-party vendors; and
- Google OAuth is used for authentication, eliminating the need to store passwords.
In the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your personal data, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.

You may access and update your account information (including your display name) at any time from your Profile settings. Your email address is read-only as it is tied to your Google account.
